AUTHOR SIGNING AT LOOMER ROAD

Speedway author Jeff Scott will be at Loomer Road on Saturday to sign copies
of his latest speedway odyssey Quantum of Shale

The book is a big value 330 pages, 199 photos, quarter of a million words
for only £20.

Every club features and this includes 2 chapters on Stoke (home against
Redcar & away against Reading). There's the usual rich tapestry of people,
places and events. Inside thereıs also some writing on & pithy comments
about: the future of British Speedway (from Gordon Day), the genesis of the
rulebook (from Neil Machin), some insight into PL finance (from Glyn
Taylor), the 2008 EL points limit (from Colin Pratt), how to professionally
present the speedway sponsorship opportunity (from Lakeside), the Swindon
guest controversy (from John Louis), the closure of Reading speedway, plus
some stuff on defunct tracks including the Wimbledon 80th anniversary
celebrations and Oxford (on & off the track) plus tons more besides.

³Itıs engaging, brutally honest and tells you about aspects of the 2008
season that would have otherwise gone unreportedŠ..Itıs thought provoking,
funny and controversial in equal measure and a thoroughly enjoyable read.²

SKIPPER READY TO RETURN

STOKE'S Lee Complin expects to return to the Potters line up for this weekend's clashes against Rye House.

The Potters skipper had a spin out at the Chesterton circuit on Monday afternoon and said "I feel fine, the wrist problem that kept me out of the defeat against King's Lynn feels ok and I'm looking to return for the weekend clashes against Rye House. "I've been in the gym and did a little moto cross on Sunday and their does not seem to be any reaction from the injury and I'm raring to go."

Promoter Dave Tattum said "It will be good to have Lee returning on Saturday we badly missed him against King's Lynn. "It was disappointing not to have a meeting last Saturday but we could not get anyone to fill the gap left in our list due to a lot of clubs having had postponements during June and July due to
the bad weather and those clubs fulfilling other fixtues. "Hopefully though the break will bring the lads back refreshed and ready to go again and I'm looking to remain unbeaten here at Stoke for the remainder of the season."
