JB blow and Compton also out but Taylor is fit.

The Potters have been dealt a blow after skipper Jason Bunyan failed a fitness test and will miss the meeting meanwhile Taylor Poole is  fit to take his place in the line up after withdrawing from last weeks draw with Scunthorpe through an ankle injury. Stoke promoter Dave Tattum said “Jason failed a fitness test this morning and will miss the meeting, and I’ll announce the guest to replace him as soon as I’ve spoken to the rider concerned.”

 The Comets will be without number one  Andre Compton, Compton had hoped to have a fitness test on Thursday night at Sheffield but the Tigers meeting against King’s Lynn was postponed preventing the Comets skipper from testing his shoulder out. Edinburgh’s Andrew Tully will come in as a guest to replace Compton.

STOKE Easy Rider Potters promoter Dave Tattum takes to the airwaves again on Saturday afternoon when he joins Andy Jones and Stoke centre green presenter George Andrews from 3pm on Signal 2 which broadcasts on 1170am, DAB and online.

JB hopeful of return this weekend

Potters Captain Jason Bunyan hopes to make his return to action this weekend in our home meeting against the Workington Comets

Stoke team manager Malcolm Vasey said “We’re hopeful Jason will be back for Saturday’s meeting he is having a fitness test on Friday and a final decision will then be made. Jason is so influential both on and off the track and it will be a real boost for us to have him back in the side.

Last minute change brings in Tully as guest.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Andrew Tully will now be our guest for Jason Bunyan at Sheffield on Thursday night, not Ryan Fisher as previously announced.

Ryan Fisher will be the guest at Owlerton.

Stoke Easy Rider Potters promoter Dave Tattum has confirmed that Edinburgh number one Ryan Fisher comes in as a guest to replace the injured Jason Bunyan for the trip to Sheffield on Thursday.

Leigh Lanham will be the guest for Saturday

STOKE promoter Dave Tattum has announced that Leigh Lanham will be the guest for Saturday’s home fixture against Scunthorpe on Saturday evening.

 Lanham, who rides for Newport at Premier League level and doubles up with Sky Sports Elite League club Belle Vue comes in to replace the injured Jason Bunyan. 

Tattum is currently awaiting confirmation of the guest for Thursday’s trip to Sheffield.

J.B. out for up to a month

STOKE Easy Rider Potters have confirmed that skipper Jason Bunyan could be out for up to a month after doctors confirmed that he had sustained knee ligament damage in Saturday’s home win over Sheffield. 

Potters promoter Dave Tattum said “I spoke to Jason late last night and he informed me that the doctors had advised him to have total rest. We’ll miss Jason as he is such an influential rider both on and off the track, and knowing him as I do I would not rule out a return before then as he is a quick healer.

 In the meantime as Jason is our number one we are able to use guests to cover for his absence.”

Klaus named as skipper for Birmingham & Redcar
+ Makovsky Guests at Redcar‏

STOKE Easy Rider Potters have named Dane Klaus Jakobsen as Captain for this weeks Premier Trophy meetings at Birmingham and Redcar in the absence of the injured Jason Bunyan. 

Meanwhile Potters promoter Dave Tattum has confirmed that Berwick’s Czech Republic rider Michal Maskovsky will guest for the injured Jason Bunyan in the Potters Premier Trophy encounter against Redcar at the South Tees Motor Sports Park on Thursday.

J.B. missing meetings

STOKE Easy Rider Potters promoter Dave Tattum has confirmed that Potters skipper Jason Bunyan will miss this weeks Premier Trophy clashes at Birmingham and Redcar after the Stoke number one withdrew from Saturday’s 49-44 victory over Sheffield with a knee injury.

 Tattum said “Jason is seeing his doctor on Monday and we’ll know more about the extent of the knee problem then. I can confirm that Wolverhampton’s Ludvig Lindgren who rode for Birmingham last season will guest for us at Perry Barr on Wednesday and we’re currently looking at our options on who will be the guest at Redcar on Thursday evening.”

STOKE Easy Rider Potters skipper Jason Bunyan has been drawn at number four in the British Semi Final which takes place at Sheffield on Thursday 6 May.

 Bunyan will come up against the likes of former Grand Prix star and five times British title holder Scott Nicholls and current Grand Prix rider Tai Woffinden. The field also sees’ the Potters skipper come up against current Premier League riders champion Ricky Ashworth and former winner and ex-Sheffield skipper Andre Compton and former Potter Ben Barker.

J.B. in British Semi-Final

STOKE Easy Rider Potters skipper Jason Bunyan has been drawn at Sheffield in the British Semi Final which takes place at the South Yorkshire venue on Thursday May 6th.

 The Potters number one will come up against Grand Prix rider Tai Woffinden, Team GB skipper Scott Nicholls and former Potter Ben Barker along with Sheffield riders Ricky Ashworth, Richard Hall and Josh Auty.

 The draw for the riding order will take place on the centre green at Sheffield’s home meeting against Scunthorpe on Thursday.

 Line up – Not in riding order: Scott Nicholls, Tai Woffinden, Ricky Ashworth, David Howe, Andre Compton, Daniel King, Josh Auty, Richard Lawson, Richard Hall, Andrew Tully, Oliver Allen, Ben Barker, William Lawson, Robert Mear, Jordan Frampton, Jason Bunyan.

 The second semi final will take place at King’s Lynn’s Norfolk Arena circuit on Wednesday May 12th.

Home V Scunthorpe Scorpions is off.

This Saturdays (03/04) Meeting at Loomer Road versus the Scorpions has joined next weeks match at Owlerton in being postponed.

The Loomer Road track has suffered a heavy amount of rain throughout the week and there has been no chance to actually work the track at all today.

Next weeks Premier Trophy clash versus the Sheffield Tigers at Owlerton has already been moved back to the 22nd of April.

EASY  Rider Potters promoter Dave Tattum will be on Signal 2 on Saturday afternoon between 3pm and 3.30pm as he joins presenter Andy Jones and Potters centre green presenter George Andrews in the studio.

FORMER POTTERS RIDER PAUL FRY PASSES AWAY

British Speedway is today mourning the loss of Paul Fry, who was found dead at his home in Hereford on Wednesday night. He was 44.
 
Paul raced for a number of clubs since first starting out with Cradley Heath in 1984, and later won a number of honours with the Heathens, Swindon and Somerset.

Paul had two stints with the Potters the first being back in 1988 and he then returned to Loomer Road in 1999.

His last club was Newport in 2009 when he answered an early season emergency call to replace the injured Craig Watson.

 Stoke Promoter Dave Tattum said “I’m shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Paul’s untimely death and our thought’s are with his family and friends.”

 Paul leaves behind a widow and two teenage children.
