Potters were
thumped
69-21 by
group
leaders
King’s Lynn
in the
Premier
Trophy at
the Norfolk
Arena last
night.
The Potters
started
brightly
with a win
for skipper
Lee Complin
over Darren
Mallett and
home skipper
Lee Complin
but it was
the only
highlight of
a bleak
night for
the Potters,
but it was
all downhill
from then on
as the Stars
won all of
the next
fourteen
heats.
Jason
Bunyan
managed to
split the
home pairing
of Chris
Schramm and
Christian
Henry in
heat three.
Lee Complin
was
introduced
as a
tactical
ride in heat
five but to
no avail as
the Stars
duo of
Schramm and
Henry held
the Potters
skipper at
bay despite
a determined
challenge
from Complin.
From then
on only
Jason Bunyan
managed to
defeat an
opponent
until as he
managed a
couple of
second
places
before
Complin
managed to
split the
Star pairing
in heat
fifteen as
King’s Lynn
gained ten
maximum 5-1
heat
advantages
and a
further four
4-2 heat
advantages
as Stoke
suffered
their worst
defeat for a
number of
years.
Team boss
John
Woolridge
said “It was
a
disgraceful
performance
tonight and
very
embarrassing.
“Only Lee (Complin)
and Jason
(Bunyan)
came out of
tonight’s
meeting with
any credit
as they rode
their hearts
out for the
cause but
they had no
back up, the
performance
was awful
and was
nothing
short of
appalling.”
