STOKE
Easy Rider
Potters were
thumped
65-30 by the
Rye House
Rockets at
the
Hoddesdon
raceway on
Monday
afternoon.
Potters
number one
Jason Bunyan
and skipper
Lee Complin
received
little back
up as
Rockets
veteran
Andrew
Silver
rolled back
the years to
complete his
first paid
maximum
of the
season.
The
writing was
on the wall
for the
Stoke septet
as Rye House
took a 19-5
lead after
just four
heats with
only Jason
Bunyan
managing to
lower a
Rockets
riders
colours when
he managed
to pass home
skipper
Chris Neath
to take
second place
in heat one,
but he was
unable to
catch
youngster
Joe Haines
who took
victory and
recorded the
fastest time
of the
season at
the
Hertfordshire
circuit of
56.0 seconds
just 0.4
outside the
Hoddesdon
track
record.
Bunyan
again
managed
second place
in heat five
behind Chris
Neath with
Ludvig
Lindgren
taking third
place for a
Rockets 4-2
heat
advantage.
Lee
Complin was
nominated as
a tactical
ride in heat
seven but
Tommy Allen
made the
gate with
Complin and
Klaus
Jakobsen
chasing him
but to no
avail, Josh
Auty then
managed to
get round
Jakobsen to
take third
place to
force a 4-4
drawn heat
to leave the
score at
32-12.
Rye House
piled on the
pressure
with two
successive
maximum heat
wins before
Lee Complin
managed to
split the
Rockets
pairing of
Allen and
Haines to
give the
Rockets a
4-2 race
win.
Jason
Bunyan took
the Potters
second
tactical
ride of the
afternoon
and he
promptly
took victory from Allen with Jesper Kristiansen holding off a late
challenge
from Josh
Auty the
Potters
gained their
one and only
heat
advantage of
the
afternoon
giving the
Potters a
7-2 race
win, Rye
House still
lead
comfortably
with the
score 48-23
after eleven
heats and
all three
league
points in
the bag.
In heat
thirteen
Bunyan took
the lead but
unfortunately
fell on the
third turn
and was
disqualified
by referee
Dan Holt. In
the rerun
Auty took a
comfortable
victory from
Robert
Ksiezak who
managed to
hold off the
challenge of
Joe Haines
for second
place.
The
Potters
managed a
drawn heat
in fourteen
as Neath
took victory
for the
Rockets with
Complin and
Tom P Madsen
taking the
minor
placings.
Potters
skipper Lee
Complin took
a tumble in
the first
running of
heat fifteen
and was
disqualified
from the
rerun as the
primary
cause of the
stoppage. In
the rerun
Neath cut
across Jason
Bunyan
allowing the
undefeated
Andrew
Silver
through to
take the
lead
and although
Bunyan was
all over
Neath’s back
wheel the
Potters top
scorer was
unable to
find away
past to give
Rye House
their eighth
maximum race
win of the
meeting and
a
comfortable
65-30
victory over
the Potters.
Potters
team boss
John
Woolridge
said “We
were a two
man team and
I dread to
think what
would have
happened has
we not got
Jason and
Lee today.
“Jesper
tried hard
but got
little in
return in
the way of
points and I
can’t fault
him for
effort
either but
the rest
just did not
perform and
it’s just
not good
enough. “We
know Rye
House is a
difficult to
place to
come at the
best of
times but
there is
just no
excuse for
today’s
performance,
certain
riders were
just not at
the races.”
