STOKE
Easy Rider
Potters went
down to a
60-31 defeat
against the
Edinburgh
Monarchs in
the Premier
League at
Armadale
last night.
The
Potters were
trailing
10-2 after
just two
heats as
Stoke got
off to the
worst
possible
start
against last
seasons
league
champions,
before the
Potters
struck back
with a 4-2
heat
advantage
from skipper
Lee Complin
and Klaus
Jakobsen
over home
skipper
Matthew
Wethers.
The
Monarchs
then struck
back with
two 4-2 heat
wins and a
maximum 5-1
heat
advantage in
the next
three races
to build up
a 25-11 lead
after six
races.
Easy
Rider
Potters team
boss John
Woolridge
introduced
Lee Complin
as a
tactical
ride in heat
seven and
Complin was
leading when
disaster
struck as he
suffered an
engine
failure
allowing
Michal
Rajkowski to
take victory
from Klaus
Jakobsen
with Aaron
Summers
third for a
Edinburgh
4-2.
The
Monarchs
piled on the
pressure
with a 4-2
and 5-1 in
the next two
heats to
extend
their lead
to twenty
one points
with the
score 41-19
after ten
races.
Jason
Bunyan took
the Potters
second
tactical
ride and
finished in
third place
behind
second
placed
Rajkowski
while Tom P
Madsen took
the race
victory for
a Potters
5-2 heat
advantage.
Edinburgh
were not
finished
though as
they
completed a
comfortable
victory over
the Potters
as they
finished
with two
maximum heat
wins and a
4-2 in the
final race
to take a
60-31
victory.
