FS. It was good and fast to ride, it was also bumpy and cut up a lot.

PS. You are best remembered as a Coventry rider, how good was the mid 70’s Bees teams?

FS. There was an excellent team spirit and Nigel Boocock was a great guy to ride with who was superseded by one of the World greats in Ole Olsen who was in those days the ultimate professional.

FS. 1980 season when my wife and I started a family, we have 2 grown up boys.

PS. Any regrets from your career?

PS. How good was Ole Olsen to ride with?

FS. Top man if you could stay with him.

PS. Any particular Stoke memories spring to mind?

FS. Nothing in particular they were all good.

PS.  Do you keep in touch with any of your old team mates?

FS. Yes through the World Speedway Riders Association, we have an annual dinner and dance and its nice to see old faces and you never know who is going to turn up in any one year.

PS.  Do you stay in touch with the sport?

FS. Yes I visit Coventry occasionally and read the Speedway Star, but its all new names to me.

PS. How good an era was the 70s for Speedway?

FS. Well I think they were good old days and we had fun and there were lots of characters.

PS.  Did you enjoy your time as a Potter?

FS. Yes the lads were all good riders in those days and had good times in all our meetings.
